Writing a Sample Argumentative Essay About Theme in Middle School
Writing a Sample Argumentative Essay About Theme in Middle SchoolAs a public school teacher, I have received many emails from middle school students who would like to write an essay about a theme. While it is a fairly common request, writing a sample argumentative essay about the theme is not something that I often recommend. At least, not in my opinion, I do not think that middle school students who request to write an essay about a theme are most likely to write one that stands out as being a unique or different essay. When I receive requests from students for a sample argumentative essay about a theme, I usually tell them to ask their parents, since they are most likely to provide that information. Yet, occasionally, when a student asks me for a sample argumentative essay about a theme, I will also ask for the parent's permission before I approve them for the assignment.I think that middle school students most likely to write a unique essay are the students who are least interested in learning about the theme. Middle school students who are very particular about the subject matter of the assignment often seem to have trouble writing an essay on a theme.Students who are interested in theme can learn a lot about the theme through previous assignments. They can learn that a theme is a theme or they can learn that they don't care what a theme is. The students who do not care about themes should be encouraged to write a good essay on any topic. Those who are very particular about the topic are most likely to help others to find a topic. Some students may be more capable than others to develop a theme in a writing assignment, but just as with all writing projects, I encourage students to give the assignment to others and to work with other writers as much as possible. This makes the process easier for everyone and also helps to develop more professional relationships within the group.Often, students who were very particular about a topic before writing the essay can feel that they know what the theme of the assignment is. They may also be surprised at how easy the theme becomes once they write it down and try to get across the message in their essay. Therefore, I recommend that students who are interested in writing a unique essay about a theme to contact the teacher first, and then to do some research on the topic. This will be easier if they have worked with the same instructor or have at least had similar learning experiences. Finally, I have found that middle school students who are highly motivated are able to find topics that challenge them and make them think about the theme. Once students see how difficult a topic can be, they usually begin to think about the theme in a new way. Students who are most interested in writing a unique essay about a theme are usually the ones who are most likely to make the effort to write a good essay. While I still encourage students to do research about the theme and to write good essays about a theme, I h ave seen that students can become very successful in middle school without much difficulty in terms of theme. Therefore, I no longer recommend that students write a 'theme' argumentative essay. In fact, I have begun to recommend that students choose a specific topic, or a specific style of writing, and develop themes around those themes.
